Electrical Supply and Distribution

Frequency variation is very rare in stable power grid systems, especially systems interconnected through a grid. What would be affected would be any motorized device or sensitive device that depends on stable regular cycling of power over time.

Frequency variations can cause a motor to run faster or slower to match the frequency of the input power. This would cause the motor to run inefficiently and/or cause more heat and motor degradation through increased motor speed and/or additional current draw.

To correct this problem, all power generators and other power sources causing the frequency variation must be evaluated and then repaired, corrected, or replaced.

Our experience in industrial electrical applications developed in multiple productive companies allows us to reach the conclusion that reducing equipment downtime and production costs, and thus increasing profits, is the objective of companies of any size. Communication through understanding the electrical environment and the susceptibility of equipment to disturbances in supply quality will help discover better methods to achieve business objectives and goals.
